Embattled Energy Minister Angus Taylor’s dodgy document saga continues.
Today the Commonwealth Ombudsman stated in relation to Angus Taylor’s City of Sydney dodgy documents “It is possible that a criminal offence occurred in its creation and use, by a person or persons unknown.”
The Ombudsman also stated the AFP should have made direct inquiries with Angus Taylor or his office “the AFP’s decision not to engage directly with the Minister or his office, specifically on the conflicting claims about the source of the incorrect figure that was used in the Minister’s letter, left this issue neither investigated nor answered.”
The AFP’s decision not to investigate means “the source of the incorrect figures was not and has not been determined.”
We also learned two weeks ago, through WhatsApp messages released through FOI that Angus Taylor knew the dodgy figures were wrong even before The Daily Telegraph printed the story, yet he still maintained there were two versions of the annual report on the website – a theory that has been completely debunked.
This saga has been going on for more than a year, Angus Taylor needs to come clean with Australians where he got his dodgy documents from.
