The Clean Energy Regulator in Senate Estimates last night backed industry, business and investors that a lack of climate and energy policy is hampering renewables investment which would lead to lower power prices for Australians.
Senator Jenny McAllister asked, “When you talk to stakeholders, which I’m sure you do, do they tell you that a strong lack of national climate and energy policy is a problem for them?”
Mr David Parker, CEO, Clean Energy Regulator, “I think if anyone read any newspaper you would see many reports of people saying that.”
When asked if he agreed with the Clean Energy Council that renewable investment had collapsed by 50 per cent in 2019 he said, “the broad numbers are in agreement.”
Whether you call it a collapse, a dive, or a dramatic fall, the fact remains that renewable investment is far from growing at all, let alone growing strongly as this anti-renewables Government insists.
