Volunteering brings people together - our local volunteers are such an integral part of what makes our community so wonderful to live in. There are so many community organisations doing fantastic work here in the Western suburbs, and it is my delight to recognise these organisations and their volunteers each year through my annual Mark Butler MP Volunteer Awards.
It is important to acknowledge the tireless and dedicated volunteers that work to support these organisations – which is why I am pleased to announce nominations for my annual Volunteer Awards are now open.
Once again, I am inviting community groups and clubs to nominate volunteers for awards in three categories:
- Volunteer Recognition Award
Your organisation may nominate up to two volunteers to receive a Volunteer Recognition Award. All nominees will receive a certificate at the awards ceremony.
- Youth Encouragement Award
The Youth Encouragement Award recognises those under 25 years of age who volunteer in their local community. Your organisation may nominate up to two volunteers to receive a Youth Encouragement Award. All nominees will receive a certificate at the awards ceremony.
- Local Legends Prize
My annual Local Legends Prize recognises and celebrates the work of volunteers who have made an exceptional contribution to their community over many years. Local Legends recipients will be determined by a judging panel. Only one nomination will be accepted per organisation and a maximum of 5 Local Legends will be selected.
I will be hosting an awards presentation and morning tea on Friday 19 May 2023 to celebrate the award winners and acknowledge these invaluable volunteers.
All nominations should be received by COB Friday 5 May 2023.
I look forward to seeing you at the awards presentation and morning tea on Friday 19 May 2023 – details of this event will be provided at a later date.
